My Take: By Matthew McCully

Here are a few things to consider about vaccine passports.
First of all, they are an idea floated by the government. Nothing is set in stone, and nothing will be implemented unless there is another surge of COVID-19 cases in the province.
And I don’t know if you noticed, but government’s often drop a little nugget of information for no other reason than to test the waters and gauge public opinion.
So even if vaccine passports become a thing, they won’t be anything like the thing everyone is talking about right now.
Something else to consider is that a vaccine passport cannot and will not prevent anyone from moving freely in public.
We have sheer ignorance to blame for that.
If there is anything humanity has proven throughout history, it’s that we can trump even the greatest of accomplishments by shooting ourselves in the foot.
