My Take: By Matthew McCully

The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was: historic anglos.

Is English so precious that it can only be doled out in tiny rations to historic anglos?
Seriously?
Never mind how asinine that is as a policy, just imagine what the rest of the rational world is thinking right now looking at Quebec.
I can’t believe this conversation even has legs right now.
I hope they send out cards in the mail to let us all know who qualifies. They should do like we did in English elementary school, burn the edges of the paper and steep it in tea to make it look real old and historic. Maybe add a couple cobwebs and something super English like crumpets.
If I actually got one, I’d gladly lend it to a Jamaican in need of healthcare, cause this historic anglo gets by just fine in French, and pigs will likely fly before I get a doctor.
