My Take: By Matthew McCully

The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was invisible work.

Read a great mansplanation the other day about entitled daycare workers who should be happy with their lot, or get a better education if they want to earn more money.

Well guess what.

They are well-educated. And they are about to clean house (And I don’t mean yours).

The days of under-valuing female-dominated professions are numbered.

Also, the jig is up. In fields where women have traditionally been excluded, it turns out they can handle themselves just fine without a penis, sometimes better.

It’s almost like the damn things have been weighing men down for years.

It takes a level of ignorance beyond anything I could imagine to use the ‘if we give them a raise, then we have to give them a raise, and then them too’ argument.

It’s almost like you’re worried if we don’t watch out, pay equity could become a thing.
