Knowing what we know, why can’t we organize ourselves better to meet our needs as a society and still put safety first?
Never mind we.
I know that after months of confinement we are all hurting either emotionally, physically or financially-possibly all three.
I also know that it was necessary and it paid off, but that doesn’t mean we’re ready for a spending spree.
As a population, we act like spoiled children who completed a chore and are now demanding a reward.
Knowing March break was the catalyst for the spread of COVID-19 here in Quebec, the country’s hardest hit province, was it really wise to give people license to go out and explore the landscape for two weeks, inadvertently overpopulating our most remote areas with outsiders.
Who didn’t know Quebecers, who suffer through long cold winters, would likely flock to beaches and fill bars.
