My Take: By Michael Boriero

By the time you read this it’s quite possible the United States of America will have finally announced the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
While it’s frustrating that it’s taking this long for a winner to emerge, it’s also understandable. It’s a tight race and there were millions of mail-in ballots. They need time to get it right.
What I find inexcusable, though, is the fact that this race was even close at all. You would think that after four years of Trump the American population would be tired of his antics.
But maybe Trump’s rhetoric has irreversibly seeped into the self-titled land of the free. Or it could be that we’re simply seeing America’s true colours.
The real red, white and blue; a nation divided by politics. I can only hope that enough Americans made the right decision this time around.
