My Take: By Michael Boriero

The way Legault and his government continuously backtrack on previous statements is becoming laughable. I keep telling myself that it’s normal, the government isn’t going to get everything right during a pandemic.
But I’ve reached a level of incredulity that won’t allow me to make excuses anymore. Christmas is cancelled once again. After teasing Quebecers with 10-person gatherings, our premier, like clockwork, went back on his statement.
This will undoubtedly confound and frustrate many people. The thing is I’m not mad gatherings are cancelled. We need to stay home and distance from others. What gets under my skin is that he never should have presented the idea in the first place.
Legault felt compelled to compare our situation to countries like the United States and Italy. But he is failing to take responsibility for a worsening situation on Quebec soil, one he could fix.
