A COVID-19 vaccine might be just around the corner, but the pandemic is far from over. This was certainly noted yesterday when the provincial government issued an emergency alert message to all Quebecers.
The worst thing we can do is become complacent in our fight to stem the spread of the virus; just take a look at our western neighbours in Alberta. While I’m thrilled at the thought of life returning to normal, I am also cautiously optimistic.
Things aren’t fine, but I don’t have to tell you that. We continue to see record-breaking daily totals. And our long-term care facilities are still experiencing outbreaks. We claim to know so much about the virus, and yet it feels like we’re back at square one.
A vaccine is great news, but we can’t lose focus on the ‘now’. Let’s take this one day at a time.
