My hope, and I’m assuming the federal government’s hope, is that with quarantine hotels acting as a deterrent, Canadians will stay home come March break.
But honestly, I’ve become fairly pessimistic throughout the pandemic. If there’s a will, there’s a way, and I will not be shocked if Quebecers, for example, find a way around this measure.
It’s incredibly discouraging to open your phone, jump on whatever social media app, and watch as people post pictures in Florida, or some other sunny destination.
I get it, people need to escape. But come on, we’re all in the same boat. Using mental health as an excuse to travel during a pandemic is bogus.
People are complaining about the possibility of spending up to $2,000 in a hotel. Is it fair? Maybe not. But I’m not going to feel bad if you put yourself in this situation.
