My Take: By Michael Boriero

It is difficult to measure bravery. But we are all brave in our own way. It could be as simple as leaving a dead-end job and pursuing an unknown passion.
It could be overcoming a fear of heights by going bungee jumping or skydiving. Or it could be mustering up the courage to ask out that person you’ve had a crush on for weeks.
I don’t think there is a limit to bravery. It comes in all shapes and sizes. It impacts people in different ways, and in ways that are unique to every individual person.
We needed to be brave a lot this year. Families were torn apart by COVID-19. Elderly folks were isolated from the rest of society. Frontline workers, like nurses and teachers, provided stability.
In a year where we needed to be brave, I think we all went above and beyond.
