I have no problem with vaccine passports. I am aware that this will be an unpopular initiative from the Quebec government, but I think it is a necessary one.
We need more people to get vaccinated. The numbers are not strong enough yet. And if it is not already abundantly clear, this is our only sure-fire way out of the pandemic.
There are too many vaccine-hesitant people out there. And, unfortunately, this might be the only way to convince them to finally take the plunge — or jab.
Quebec has said that the passports will only be used in the event of another wave, or in COVID-19 hot zones, limiting non-essential services to the fully-vaccinated.
I don’t see anything wrong with that logic. At least for now. Needless to say, I’m sure there will be a lengthy debate over this topic.
