My Take: By Michael Boriero

Trudeau calling a snap election has us back in the thick of campaign season, and whether we like it or not, this means more promises that will likely never come to fruition.
It has been less than a week since the decision was made to once again head to the polls in September, and yes, we’re already being bombarded by overzealous candidates.
It’s understandable, of course, they are all vying for votes. And at the end of the day, they will pander to whatever groups they believe will give them the best chance to win.
It’s an obvious statement, I know, but for the next month we need to take everything with a grain of salt. We rarely see any initiative following an election because, well, politics.
It is up to us to parse through the garbage, though, and to be mindful of our vote.
