My Take: By Michael Boriero

The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was systemic racism.

Is it just me or can we all agree that Premier Legault needs a mute button? I mean talk about being tone-deaf, right?
In a week where we, as Canadians, are asked to reflect, listen, and learn, he decides to double down on the fact that he believes systemic racism does not exist in Quebec.
I hate to burst your bubble Mr. Premier, but it does exist, in our province and across the country. And I suggest you accept that fact soon because it’s a tough look right now.
But let’s forget about him for a minute. It is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and we need to recognize the issues that continue to plague Indigenous communities.
Many lack necessary resources, such as clean drinking water, and they are often mistreated, and misrepresented. Please, do some research, educate yourselves, and strive for change.
