The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was bake sales.
Is it just me or has [insert expletive] been hitting the fan more often than not lately? My only guess is that it was mostly just bottled up during the height of the pandemic.
I’ve had it up to here with all of the doom and gloom these days — and if you were with me right now, you’d see that I have my hand raised way up over my head.
It starts to weigh on you, right? Demonstrations, protests, government inaction, corruption, and violence at every turn. I chose this path, though, this job. I’m in it every day.
But I can’t imagine what it must be like as a reader, especially a casual one. I’ve had friends tell me that they stopped reading, listening and watching the news altogether.
I like to stay informed, but I can understand that everyone has a breaking point.
