My Take: By Michael Boriero

The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was the Freedom Convoy

The #FreedomConvoy has taken on a mind of its own at this point, and I’m not sure what to expect anymore by the time all of these truckers and supporters reach parliament hill.
This protest, if you really want to call it that, has seemingly spiralled out of control and into the abyss — a dark and ominous pit filled with anti-vaxxer rhetoric, and general pandemic angst.
I know I’m not alone in saying I don’t want to see riots or looting like we saw last year when riled up Trump supporters stormed and attacked the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
It’s kind of a waiting game now, though, right? Obviously, there’s a movement happening around Canada and in the U.S., but the numbers, information, and motivation are unclear.
Theo Fleury suggests over one million people will be there. Sorry, but I’m skeptical.
