My Take: By Michael Boriero

The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was thinking long term.

While it seems like we’re heading in the right direction in this pandemic, somehow, to me at least, it feels as though we’re about a million miles away from the finish line.
Maybe it’s the fact that we’re still in lockdown. I don’t know about you, but I miss playing hockey. Maybe it has to do with the number of deaths related to COVID-19.
Or, hey, maybe I’m feeling this way because it looks like we’re just going around in circles, as we’re flooded with news that the virus is sweeping through CHSLDs again.
In all likeliness, my pessimism stems from my distrust in whatever plan our provincial government has laid out. I know. Change doesn’t happen overnight.
But why does it seem like we’re more worried about the Habs GM speaking French, and less about the state of our healthcare workers and educators.
