To quote Michael Buffer, “ladies and gentlemen, from Quebec, Canada, let’s get ready to rumble!” Legault has officially signalled the start of the 2022 provincial election campaign.
If only the Quebec electoral campaign season was nearly as exciting as a boxing match, though, or even a wrestling match. I’d probably pay to see some of those title fights.
No, unfortunately, it’s going to be a long month full of empty promises, name-calling, party-bashing, and smear tactics. Think Game of Thrones, you know, before it went downhill.
Honestly, I still might be giving it too much credit. In any case, there’s going to be a lot of information thrown at Quebecers, as politicians scream at us that their way is the right way.
And I hope voters make informed decisions, whatever it may be. And, hopefully, there’s a stronger voter turnout compared to 2018.
