My Take: By Reann Fournier

Some would argue that Halloween or Christmas is their favourite holiday but me, I have always loved Thanksgiving. Not only do you get to enjoy the best food of the year with your favourite people, but you also get to dress up in those corny matching fall toned sweaters for annual family photos. As a student too, those who are not able to make it home to their families for the weekend can host their own versions and create new traditions in their newfound homes, often called ‘friendsgiving’.
No, you don’t give or receive gifts, but who wants the pressure of that anyways, and walking all over your neighbourhood just to collect candy and then gain all the calories you burned back by eating it just isn’t as comforting as a warm home smelling like turkey and pumpkin pie and filled with friends and family.
