My Take: By Reann Fournier

After four years of broken laws, of racism, sexism, and poor leadership, the United States Presidential race should not be this close. Four years ago, none of us truly believed that the American people were stupid enough to elect a man as hateful and backwards as Donald Trump but, alas, they proved us wrong. And I think we’re all afraid that they will make the same mistake they did four years ago. As it stands, Biden has the lead with 264 electoral votes. Trump has made it clear that he will not leave office quietly, that he will not accept results that aren’t in his favour. There have been people protesting in Washington for days now. Police began mobilizing before the polls even opened. White supremacist groups have been mobilizing for days. Whoever wins, I have a feeling that Washington will never be the same.
