My Take: By Taylor McClure

I told myself that once we emerged from the pandemic, I would continue wearing my mask in public spaces, like grocery stores, at least for a while. It might not be a popular decision, but I’ll stick to my guns. Not everyone is vaccinated nor will everyone get vaccinated, why not take one small step that will not only help protect me but others? Even when Covid is long gone, that doesn’t mean that other viruses aren’t circulating. Wearing a mask can help you avoid catching something as common as the annual cold and flu. People are looking forward to things getting back to normal, but why not embrace a new normal? I think there are some things that we learned in the pandemic that we should take with us as we begin to move forward, and for me, wearing masks is one of them.
