The vaccine passport is causing a stir; it’s easy to understand why. The vaccine passport will be an official document so that in the case of a COVID-19 surge, those that are vaccinated can access non-essential services and travel. Personally, I see this is a manoeuvre on part of the government to basically try to force people into getting the vaccine. This does not sit right with me. While I understand the intention, it’s to protect citizens, finding every loophole possible to basically say ‘you don’t need to get the vaccine, but…’ defeats the purpose of constitutional rights. If someone doesn’t want to put medicine made in a lab in a short period of time in their bodies, they should not be made to feel like they have to. France is currently in flames over this issue; it’s one that needs to be approached carefully.
