My Take: By Taylor McClure

The possibility of a fourth wave of COVID-19 has entered the atmosphere. With construction holidays wrapping up last weekend, I ponder whether this will become a reality. As more people get vaccinated, the existence of Covid is slowly slipping from people’s minds; I know that it has for me. We are all looking forward to getting out of the pandemic rut, we all have high hopes with recent cases being low, but the cases are still there and now they are seeing a climb. Two weeks of holidays calls for tourists, tourists call for crowds, and crowds call for chaos. The situation may be improving, but we can’t push protocols and sanitary measures aside; when you’re fighting a battle, you don’t let down you guard until you are certain that you are the winner. We are slowly moving forward, let’s not take ten steps back.
