“Yeah, thankfully,” said a teacher friend of mine recently when I asked her if her teaching contract is up at the end of this school year. Speaking to her reminded me about how I felt four years ago in my last year in the education program at Bishop’s University. I always wanted to be a teacher, yet again I think most of us at least thought about being a teacher at some point in our lives. But there is a difference between wanting to be a teacher and actually becoming one. I had one year left until I was supposed to graduate, everyone thought that I was crazy and that I should “suck it up”, but I decided to take the risk and change programs. And look where I am now; I guess you have a good idea as to how that decision panned out.
