My Take: By Taylor McClure

By definition, a break refers to “a pause in work or during an activity or event;” something that some teachers don’t seem to get. In the movies, March break is all about students going on vacation, frolicking on the beaches and having fun. In reality, it’s about having fun for the first few days and then looking at the CN-Tower-like pile of homework on your desk hoping that it will finish itself. Here is some extra homework to keep yourself occupied and here is a group assignment I expect to have on my desk Monday morning; all the things students love to hear when they are going on a “break.” Panic and stress start to settle in, you start to question why you waited until the last minute, and regret ensues; until the next March break comes around and you do it all over again.
