My Take: Cassie MacDonell

My Take: Cassie MacDonell

The format of a My Take is 150 words – no more, no less – to express an opinion on a different topic each week. This week’s topic was convocation.

During my first week at Bishop’s, I remember talking to my friends about how much of an inconsolable wreck I will most likely be at our Convocation ceremony. Evidently, the almost cult-like Bishop’s pride was instilled in me from the moment I stepped foot on campus, which, I may add, I eagerly welcomed. Four years later, my time to graduate will finally come this weekend, and I have realized I predicted right. Almost. To my credit, I am much less of a mess than my first-year self believed I’d be. Although I am upset to leave behind my best friends, our memories, and the community, I’m excited for what the next chapter will bring, as cheesy as that sounds. I am thankful for the people who solidified the love I held for Bishop’s in first year and made it the community I believed it to be.
