Nearly 40 Eastern Townships artists to participate in Georgeville open house festival

The 17th edition of the Festival des Arts de Georgeville-Fitch Bay will be held from July 19 to 28, starting with a vernissage Friday evening, July 19. Four exhibition sites will allow visitors to meet some 38 local artists and artisans in scenic locations. Visitors will be presented arts from various mediums, including painting, printmaking, photography, sculpting, cabinet making, jewelry designing, silk scarf marking, and stained glass. “This is a popular annual event that unofficially began in the late eighties,” said Danielle Hudon, president of the Association des Artistes de Georgeville/Fitch Bay. “It’s been developed and improved constantly, and many of the participating artists are involved in the organization of the festival. They will be present at the four locations to welcome visitors to each site during the 10 days of the festival.” In fact, each site will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and around 10 artists will be present in each location to meet visitors and talk about their art. The festival is known to attract art lovers, collectors, or simply tourists who are attracted by the Eastern Townships’ pastoral beauty and flora.
