On Monday the city of Sherbrooke and the Canadian Union of Public Employees concluded their year-long negotiations over the Crossing Guard Collective Agreement. Discussions included redefining sections, requests for longer paid holidays, and a salary increase.
According to Alain Savignac, union councillor for the Sherbrooke crossing guards, negotiations started in early spring of last year but had been delayed several times because of the pandemic. This, despite the agreement coming to an end in Dec. 2019.
