By Matthew McCully – The ice and the cold may be a downer for some Townshippers, but it is a dream come true for holiday hockey players. This was the scene Thursday afternoon at Atto Beaver Park. Sure there are plenty of leagues around for players, divided by age and skill level. But holiday shinny is that time of year when players of all ages can share the ice and get back to the basics of hockey. The passing, the stick tricks, practicing the full-bodied ‘et le but!’ and of course, the victory lap and fist pump. Friends and strangers. Young and old. It didn’t even matter that it was minus 10.
