Estrie Aide and Service aux Entreprises – Estrie (SAE-Estrie) have joined forces to launch a professional certificate program in bicycle mechanics. This partnership enables students to train at Estrie Aide’s facilities on Wellington Street South in Sherbrooke. A dedicated space has been set up in the donation center for smooth course operation. The bicycle training complements Estrie Aide’s social mission focused on socio-professional integration.

A press release from Estrie Aide explained that bicycles used in training come from community donations to Estrie Aide, showcased in the Spring Bike Fair. These bikes undergo refurbishment to enhance learning. Driven by eco-conscious values, Estrie Aide promotes non-motorized transportation awareness and environmental practices.

The program, lasting 720 hours, leads to a certification/diploma (AEP), a professional certificate.

Established in 2019, SAE-Estrie consolidates business services from the school service centers of Région-de-Sherbrooke, Hauts-Cantons, Les Sommets, and the Eastern Townships School Board. Since 2022, it also includes the Val-des-Cerfs School Service Center. It aims to be an innovative hub of excellence in continuing education, meeting workforce and business needs in our region.
