The work to install the lights will begin this Monday, Aug. 24, and take approximately one month to complete.
The MTQ will replace the current flashing lights with traffic lights, which will only turn red when a pedestrian presses the call button to cross.
Given the high number of pedestrians in the area, particularly during peak hours due to the proximity to Bishop’s and Champlain, the new light system is intended improve traffic flow and enhance pedestrian safety.
