Nez-Rouge needs volunteers for Christmas

Record Staff – The freezing rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the 400 or so volunteers who came to help Operation Nez-Rouge meet its goals. Although the roads were icy in some places, the calls all went well, thanks to the work done spreading salt by the municipalities and the progressive warming. Therefore, nearly 800 rides were given over the weekend bringing the regional total to 3,932 since the beginning of the campaign, including 2,855 by the Sherbrooke command post. The Sherbrooke station will be the only one open in the region until December 27, including on the nights of December 24 and 25. The call to the community has been made to recruit a maximum of volunteers on these nights. Volunteer registration can be done online at: www.operationnezrouge.com or by going directly to the center on the desired evening. Published in the Monday, Dec. 24 edition of The Record.
