Not too late for cultural ­project grants in ­Memphrémagog

A call for cultural projects launched late last fall in the Memphrémagog MRC is still open to possible submissions for another month, according to Marie-Christine Perron-Marier, the regional municipality’s territorial development agent. According to Perron-Marier, the grant is offered through the Programme de soutien financier aux initiatives culturelles, a $30,000 fund meant to help cultural organizations, artists, social enterprises, heritage groups and municipalities improve their cultural offering. Although projects are due by 4:30 p.m. on February 14, the development agent pointed out that approval depends on a degree of support from a municipal council within the MRC. “It takes a municipal resolution,” she said, emphasizing the fact that although there is still time and space for more applications, those interested in submitting an idea ought to do so sooner than later.
