Orford Music formally announced the cancellation of its 2020 music festival on Thursday in order to conform with the Provincial government’s demand that all festivals and public cultural events across the province be cancelled until at least August 31.
The classes and internships of the 2020 summer academy will be maintained, but will all be conducted online through distance-learning. The Academy has been redesigned based on current circumstances and will offer an adapted service to its students this coming summer. The teachers’ response to the modified model has been extremely positive and the vast majority of them will participate in this unique Academy. Looking ahead to a time when isolation is lessened or repealed, Orford Music is preparing a plan to gradually resume its activities while also taking every measure possible to ensure the safety of its employees and customers.
