Quebecers who received parking tickets last week on Côte du Piémont in Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley no longer need to worry about the fine as a Montreal resident decided to cover the infraction costs.
Hikers coming back from a trek through the Massawippi Trail on Feb. 14 were shocked to find tickets on their car windshield. Roughly 19 individuals were handed a $78 infraction for illegally parking on the narrow road.
A nearby resident most likely called the Régie de police de Memphrémagog, Massawippi Foundation President Margot Graham Heyerhoff told The Record. A hiker wrote about receiving a fine on the foundation’s Facebook page.
