Thanks to funding in the amount of $109,000 presented to Partage Saint-François this week, the organization can now begin hunting for a building to purchase for a new crisis centre in Sherbrooke.
Saint-François MNA Geneviève Hébert delivered the cheque to Partage Saint-François Executive Director Sébastien Laberge, which will serve as a down payment for the building to house the crisis centre.
According to Hébert, the funding was drawn from her own volunteer support budget, as well as the discretionary budget of the Minister responsible for Social Services, Lionel Carmant. The balance was a donation from the Congregation of the Petites Sœurs de la Sainte Famille.
Partage Saint-François can now move forward with the bidding process to purchase, set up and begin operating the crisis centre.
