By Matthew McCully – Over the weekend 135 golfers hit the Milby Golf Course for the annual Piper Classic. The tournament raises funds for the Alexander Galt Regional High School athletics department. According to Galt Athletic Director Robbie Fisk, this year’s Piper Classic raised roughly $33,000. “It went really well,” Fisk said, adding that the weather cooperated for a good day on the course. The winning score for the Vegas-style tournament was 14 under par, shot by foursome Troy Lunn, Manny Talbot, Anthony Gosselin and Brendan Smith. Honorary Chairman of this year’s tournament was Jimmy Donnachie. “There are so many people to thank,” Donnachie said, “We had great support from past alumni.” See full story in the Tuesday, June 25 edition of The Record.
