Pipers flag-football worked hard over Mother’s Day weekend

By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – The Alexander Galt girls’ flag football teams had a busy Mother’s Day weekend, with two games for the junior team and two games for the senior team on Sunday, May 12. The Junior Pipers beat Collège Sacré-Coeur 30-0 and Triolet High School 12-6, while the Senior Pipers lost 20-7 against Sacré-Coeur but won 12-0 over Triolet. This is the junior team’s second season in existence, and they have yet to lose a game. The need to create two teams was obvious for flag football coach Marie Thibault, as she had to turn very talented grade seven and eight players around every year at tryouts.
