Police body camera pilot project begins  in Rimouski

Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officers stationed in Rimouski began a six-month long portable intervention camera, or body camera, pilot project on Monday, one of four projects set to take place in the province this year.
The pilot project, initiated by the province’s Public Security Ministry, will provide 40 body cameras in total, with 10 police officers from four SQ detachments – Rimouski, Val-d’Or, Beauharnois and Drummondville – receiving a camera.
