Private bill on Bromont police coverage in TBL put on hold

By Steve Blake – The Town of Brome Lake Council learned last week that the private bill calling for the Bromont Police Service to cover TBL has been put on the back burner. The Ministry of Public Security’s calendar is full for the current session, Mayor Richard Burcombe said in an interview Friday. The ministry is dealing with the cannabis law and firearms registration, among other things. The private bill will have to wait until the fall session, Burcombe said.
