Public consultations on police in Quebec begin this week

Quebecers are invited to participate in a series of public consultations discussing the realities and challenges police officers face on a daily basis in the province starting Nov. 12.
The Comité consultatif sur la réalité policière (CCRP), the government committee running the consultation, will look at four key themes: relations with BIPOC community members, social roles, technology and social media, and police accountability and independence.
The event will be held online between Nov. 12 and Nov. 19. Residents can register for the consultation through the Ministère de la Sécurité publique website. Bernard Sévigny, the CCRP’s spokesperson, hopes to see a large citizen turnout.
