On Tuesday, Quebec’s municipal commission announced the different ways that people will be able to provide feedback during its public consultation on the request to review the name of the Estrie administrative region.
Given an objective of consulting the population as widely as possible and promoting expression and debate on the question of whether to switch “Estrie” to “Cantons de l’Est”, the commission will be accepting both written perspectives and videoconferencing in a two-step consultation process.
The commission is inviting all citizens, as well as public associations and institutions, who wish to express an opinion or share a brief to do so by Feb. 4, 2022. The commission will then collect the points of view and publish all contributions on a specific section its website.
