Quebec breaks single-day record of COVID-19 cases

On Saturday Quebec reported its highest number of COVID-19 infections in a single day since the start of the pandemic at 1,448.
Sunday the province reported 1,211 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected in Quebec to 123,854. The data also reported 15 new deaths, for total of 6,626. The number of hospitalizations increased by 4 compared to the previous day, for a cumulative total of 587. Among those, the number of people in intensive care increased by 7, for a total of 89.
The Estrie region reported 78 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, 76 on Saturday and 82 new cases on Sunday bringing the local total to 3, 595.

New funding for home support
During a press conference Sunday Health Minister Christian Dubé announced that an annual recurring amount of $100 million will be granted to various institutions in the health and social services network and their partners to improve the availability of home support services.
Most of this amount will be used to increase the volume and intensity of home support services according to need. All clienteles will benefit from the services, including seniors, people with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorders, people with chronic illnesses and people requiring palliative and end-of-life care at home.
