By Matthew McCully

As of Friday, Quebecers will be able to gather outside as long as they comply with social distancing measures. For the moment, gatherings will have to be limited to a maximum of 10 people. They must also include people from a maximum of three different households. A minimum distance of two metres must be maintained between those who do not come from the same household. Wearing a mask or face cover is strongly recommended. The province now has 44,775 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 578 from the day before. Of those, 911 are from the Estrie region.
There were 71 new deaths in the past day bringing the total in the province to 3,718. There are 1,516 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 and 183 of those patients are in intensive care.
While the number of hospitalizations was substantially higher earlier in the week, around 200 patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 but were treated outside a hospital setting were removed from the list. There are 12,822 confirmed recoveries to date in the province.
