The provincial government has granted a $3 million subsidy to the Fondation de la faune du Québec for the conservation of endangered wildlife and their habitats.
Forests, Wildlife and Parks Minister Pierre Dufour made the announcement last week. The financial support is for five years, ending in 2026. The ministry had an original agreement with the foundation that ran from 2018 to 2021. The new subsidy will keep the partnership intact.
“The great success of our partnership with the Foundation over the past few years has naturally led me to renew this collaboration for the benefit of the conservation of wildlife species at risk and their habitats,” Dufour said, as quoted in a press release.
