Quebec reports 690 new Covid cases

The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19 in Quebec is reporting 690 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people infected to 389,914. There are currently 4,729 active cases in the province.
According to public health, 373,897 people have recovered from the virus.
Two new deaths, were reported, for a total of 11,288 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
Hospitalizations increased by seven for a total of 138. There are 40 patients in intensive care, an increase of four compared to the previous day.
There are currently 172 active cases throughout the Estrie region.
Vaccination
Some 26,680 doses of vaccine were administered recently, for a total of 12,366,735 doses administered in Quebec to date.
At the moment, 80.8 per cent of the eligible population of Quebec is considered adequately vaccinated.
Earlier this week Quebec’s immunization committee (CIQ) announced the recommendation that a third dose of COVID-19 be made available to people who are immunocompromised or undergoing dialysis. The dose should be given a minimum of four weeks after the second dose.
For now, the CIQ is not recommending a third dose for CHSLDs.
As of Wednesday, Sept. 1, the vaccine passport is required for non-essential services in Quebec including gyms, restaurants and leisure activities.
