Quebec reports more than 700 new cases of COVID-19

There were 782 new COVID-19 cases in Quebec in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 400,625, according to data collected on the province’s public health website.
The province also registered two new deaths, pushing the total to 11,315 deaths. There are 382,703 people who have recovered from the virus. However, there are 256 hospitalizations, which is an increase of six since the previous update.
The number of intensive care unit patients increased by two, making it 87 people in total. But Quebec also saw a boost in vaccination numbers. There were 18,886 doses administered in the last 24 hours for a total of 12,686,736 doses administered in the province.
Meanwhile, in the Eastern Townships, there are a reported 107 new cases since the last assessment, and 215 active cases in the region for a total of 15,854. According to the local health authority, 80.3 per cent of the eligible population has been double vaccinated.
