Following the end of their Sherbrooke caucus on Thursday morning, Quebec Solidaire representatives joined in on a public discussion focused on sustainable mobility in the city. The event was hosted by Stephanie Leclerc of Urgence Climat Sherbrooke and featured a presentation by urban cycling advocate and CEGEP de Sherbrooke Professor Fabien Burnotte.
Burnotte used the opportunity to speak of the gains that have been made in terms of bicycle mobility in the city in recent years while also highlighting the slow pace of change and the significant obstacles that people who used bicycles to get around still face. In particular he mentioned the lack of access to the downtown as a major issue.
