Quebec solidaire co-leader Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois was in Sherbrooke on Thursday to announce a commitment to build 50,000 social housing units in the province if elected in October, with 25,000 of those to come in their first four years.
“We are living through the worst housing crisis in 20 years in Quebec right now,” the party leader said. “Housing is the primary expense of every family in Quebec. We will not resolve the cost-of-living crisis if we cannot resolve the housing crisis.
Flanked by local candidates for his party, Nadeau-Dubois said that Quebec solidaire’s aim is to reimagine the concept of affordable housing in Quebec.
