Quebec stays under 2,000  new cases

Quebec reported 1,624 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of people infected to 248,860 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The data also reported 66 new deaths, bringing the total in the province to 9,273. The number of hospitalizations decreased by 14 compared to the previous day, for a cumulative total of 1,453. Among those, the number of people in intensive care remained stable at 216.
In the Estrie region, 59 new cases were confirmed Thursday, for a local total of 10,125. Five new deaths were reported in the region, bringing the total to 243. One occurred at CHUS Fleurimont, one was at Résidence Place Primevère in Waterloo, one was from Résidence Haut-Bois in Sherbrooke, one was from a family-style residence in the Val Saint-François and one occurred within the community.
There are currently five elementary schools within the Eastern Townships School Board dealing with at least one Covid case; Drummondville, Heroes’, Parkview, Sherbrooke and St-Francis
Elementary.
