Quebec surpasses 600,000 administered doses of vaccine

As Quebec held a moment of silence to mark the National day of remembrance for victims of COVID-19, the province’s public health authority announced that health care workers have administered over 600,000 doses of vaccine.
According to the latest data of the evolution of COVID‑19 over the past 24 hours, there were 18,659 doses of vaccine administered, bringing the total to 619,060. Quebec has received a total of 852,065 doses of vaccine.
The health authority noted 738 new cases for a total of 295,390. And 15 new deaths, pushing the total to 10,518 — three deaths in the last 24 hours. There are 563 hospitalizations, which decreased by 18 and 111 people in intensive care, which decreased by 1.
The number of COVID-19 variants’ cases in the province increased by six for a total of 341, with 1,712 presumptive cases. There are five B.1.1.7 UK variant cases in the Eastern Townships. Montreal has the bulk of variant cases with 195 in total.
In the Townships, the local health authority announced 18 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 11,761 — and 191 active cases. There was also one new death attributed to the RPA Résidence N.H. Parent, for a total of 311 deaths.
