Recupex, the Sherbrooke-based nonprofit focused on fabric recycling, is getting ready for its spring clothing drive, “L’Estrie met ses culottes,” which will take place this year on Saturday May 11 from 8:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon, in the parking lot of the Mitchell-Montcalm school at 2050 Portland Boulevard. “23 years ago three friends said to each other, it doesn’t make any sense for clothing to be sent to the dump,” reflected Recupex President Michel Beaudry “they started out with a collection of a few thousand pounds, and today we collect just over four million pounds of clothes per year.” See full story in the Thursday, May 2 edition of The Record.
